Leo Limon has been painting his LA River Catz on storm-drain covers next to the LA River for over forty-five years. He is part of groups trying to revive the Los Angeles River and make it a cultural art center, tourist attraction, and historic region. He originally started out with a simple paintbrush and paint, but now Limon uses spray paint, stickers, and more to create what he and other people think is a masterpiece. However, many people think otherwise. So is graffiti like this bad? It really depends on who you ask. Some say it’s good, while others disagree. On the one hand, graffiti destroys a lot of personal and city property. On the other hand, some people enjoy expressing their emotions and making art through graffiti. Graffiti is a topic that can be looked at in many different ways, but Leo Limon has been expressing himself with graffiti for many years. He has made storm drains throughout the city just a little bit more beautiful in his own way, with his Los Angeles River Catz.
